Michael S. Eesley, President and CEO, Centegra Health System
Michael S. Eesley is President and Chief Executive Officer of Centegra Health System. Mr. Eesley joined Centegra Health System in June of 1999 and fulfilled the role of Chief Operating Officer until his appointment to CEO in February 2002. As CEO, he provides strategic leadership and vision to the health system and reports to the Corporate Governing Board.
Mr. Eesley earned a Bachelor of Science degree in hospital administration from Ferris State University in 1978 and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Detroit in 1984.
Mr. Eesley is a corporate board member for Centegra Health System, a board member for the Illinois Hospital Association, a board member for the American Hospital Association Metropolitan Hospitals Governing Council, is chairman of Centegra Insurance and founder of Leadership Greater McHenry County.
Mr. Eesley said he was led to Centegra Health System by the chance for his family to move back to the Midwest and be a part of a growing community and an evolving health system. He said that after meeting the corporate board members, Centegra Associates, physicians and community members, he and his wife were sold and it was the best move he and his family could have made.
Jason Sciarro, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
Jason Sciarro is the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Centegra Health System. He joined the Centegra family in October 2005 as Senior Vice President for Ambulatory Services and was promoted to his current position in October 2006. In his current role, Mr. Sciarro is responsible for oversight of all health system operations.
Mr. Sciarro earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Geneva College in 1992 and a Masters degree in Business Administration from LeMoyne College in 2000.
Mr. Sciarro is a member of the Board of Directors for Hospice of Northeastern Illinois.
Mr. Sciarro states that Centegra Health System is a dynamic, fast-paced community health system with the vision to become a regional destination for care, an industry employer of choice and national leader of patient satisfaction outcomes. He said those professional challenges, along with a great location and community in which to raise a family, made Centegra Health System the best decision he and his family have made both professionally and personally.
Robert M. Rosenberger, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Robert M. Rosenberger is the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Centegra Health System. Mr. Rosenberger started with Centegra Health System as Director of Accounting in 2004. He moved into the controller position in August of 2006 and into his current position in December of 2006 where he provides financial oversight and guidance to the health system.
Mr. Rosenberger earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Northern Illinois University in 1987 and a Masters in Business Administration from Northern Illinois University in 2008.
Mr. Rosenberger is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and the Leadership Greater McHenry County Class of 2009.
Mr. Rosenberger said he joined Centegra Health System for the chance to work with some of the best people in health care who are committed to a high set of values and to serving the community to the best of their abilities. He said his time at Centegra has been an enriching experience.
Aaron Shepley, Senior Vice President, Administrative Affairs, Corporate Counsel
Aaron Shepley is the Senior Vice President and Chief Quality Officer for Centegra Health System. In his current role, he has the system-wide responsibility for Information Systems, Corporate Legal and Risk Departments, Institutional Review Board and Corporate Captive Insurance entity. Mr. Shepley began with Centegra Health System as the Vice President of Quality Resources in 2002. In 2003, he became the Vice President/Site Administrator for South Street Campus. He became the Senior Vice President/Site Administrator for Centegra Northern Illinois Medical Center in 2005, and has held his current position as Senior Vice President since 2006.
Mr. Shepley earned a Bachelor of Arts from Eastern Illinois University in 1985 and completed his Juris Doctorate at the University of Illinois College of Law in 1988.
Mr. Shepley has served as the Mayor of the City of Crystal Lake, Illinois since 1999. He is also a Board Member for Leadership Greater McHenry County, a member of the Pace Board of Directors, and an original member of the Lakeside Legacy Foundation.
Mr. Shepley said what brought him to Centegra Health System was primarily the people. From front-line Associates to Mike Eesley, he has never encountered a more compassionate group of people. Since arriving, all of his perceptions have been confirmed as he has watched the men and women of the organization live Centegra’s values and positively impact the members of the community every day.
Barbara Jo Johnson, RN, BS, MSN, Senior Vice President Human Resource Development
Barbara Jo Johnson is the Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Organizational Learning for Centegra Health System. Ms. Johnson has been with Centegra Health System since September of 2001 when she served as a consultant until her current appointment that occurred in September of 2002. In her current role, she provides strategic direction to the system for Human Resources and Development.
Ms. Johnson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from South Dakota State University in 1974 and a Master of Science degree in Nursing from DePaul University in 1978.
Ms. Johnson is a Founding Board Member for Leadership Greater McHenry County and served as its chairperson in 2008 and 2009. She also is Co-Chairperson of McHenry County’s State of the Workforce Committee; is a board member for the McHenry County Workforce Investment Board and is an Auxiliary Board Member for the Center for Concern.
Ms. Johnson said she joined Centegra Health System for the opportunity to work with the leaders, Associates and board members at Centegra. She was also excited to participate in the creation of a values system. She said the organizational priorities, mission and values are inspiring and she’s proud to be a part of Centegra’s story.
Gail D. Bauersachs, Vice President Development
Gail Bauersachs is Centegra’s Vice President of Development. Ms. Bauersachs joined Centegra Health System in April of 2008 to provide strategic leadership, vision and compliance with all items related to philanthropic donations or grants to Centegra Health System.
Ms. Bauersachs earned a certification from the Art of Science of Donor Development Advancement Resources, LLC in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in June of 2007; a certification of Major Gifts Planning from the Sharpe Group of Chicago in March of 2007; a Masters of Science in Human Services from Spertus College of Judaica in Chicago in May of 1992 and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology Counseling and Family and Child Studies from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri in May of 1987.
Ms. Bauersachs is a member of the Leadership Greater McHenry County Development Council; the Association of Fundraising Professionals; the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy; and has been on the Planned Giving Advisory Counsel for Woodstock Christian Life Services; a member of the advisory board for the Center for Non Profit Leadership of McHenry County; an event coordinator and township committee person for Grafton Township in Huntley; and a member of the Board of Directors for the Youth Services Bureau in Woodstock. She is a 2006 graduate of the Leadership Greater McHenry County program and was named one of the McHenry County Business Journal’s Top 10 Under 40 in 2005.
Ms. Bauersachs said she came to Centegra Health System for the opportunity to advance the community hospital system through the efforts of philanthropic giving. She said it also provides an opportunity for her to use her skills close to home, which allows more time for family. She has found the position rewarding and says her co-workers are the best group of people she’s worked with throughout her career.
Doris Hendrickson, Vice President Finance
Doris Hendrickson is Vice President of Finance for Centegra Health System. She served as a consultant and interim manager on three occasions since 2003 before becoming an Associate in July of 2007. In her current role, she provides leadership and development for the finance and revenue cycle teams, provides reimbursement analysis and business support for operations, strategic initiatives and new programs, reporting to the CFO.
Ms. Hendrickson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Xavier University and is a Certified Public Accountant. She is also a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Ms. Hendrickson said she became part of the Centegra Health System team to work with a remarkable group of dedicated individuals who truly live the values of the system. She said the ability to make a difference is very fulfilling and possible due to a clear vision and supportive environment.
Susan Milford, Vice President Strategic Marketing & Planning and Wellness Services
Susan Milford is Centegra Health System’s Vice President of Strategic Marketing & Planning and Wellness Services. She joined Centegra Health System in May of 2006. In her current role, Ms. Milford oversees marketing, sales, strategic planning and public relations, as well as Centegra’s Wellness Services including the two Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Centers.
She holds a Bachelors of Science Degree from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville and is a 2010 Executive MBA candidate at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Ms. Milford is a 2008 graduate of Leadership Greater McHenry County and serves as a community board member of the McHenry County Economic Development Corporation and the Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce.
Ms. Milford said she was drawn to Centegra Health System's location in a growing suburban area of Chicago with exceptional marketing opportunities. She said Centegra’s leaders are authentic, passionate and the value-based culture is evident from the moment you enter one of the facilities. Centegra’s strong community mission and impactful vision of excellence also was a key reason she wanted to join the team.
David L. Tomlinson, Vice President Operations
David Tomlinson is the Vice President of Operations for Centegra Health System. He served as an Administrative Fellow in June of 2006 before becoming Director of Operations Support and Vice President of Clinical Ancillary Services. In his current role, Mr. Tomlinson provides overall operational direction, strategy and activities for surgical services, anesthesia, laboratory, pathology, pharmacy, medical imaging, supply chain and patient support services.
Mr. Tomlinson earned a Bachelor of Science Management degree from Brigham Young University in 2003 and a Masters in Business Administration and Health Administration from Saint Louis University in 2006.
Mr. Tomlinson is a board member for the Algonquin Road Surgery Center; is a volunteer leader for the Boy Scouts of America and is a graduate of Leadership Greater McHenry County.
Mr. Tomlinson said what brought him to Centegra Health System was its mission, vision and values, its servant leadership culture and its growth opportunities. He said after meeting the dynamic Executive Leadership team and experiencing the culture, his family and he knew Centegra is exactly where they want to be.
Ted Lorenc, MD, Vice President Medical Affairs
Ted Lorenc, MD, is the Vice President of Medical Affairs for Centegra Health System. Dr. Lorenc has been a member of the medical staff since 1977 and Vice President of Medical Affairs since 2006. In his role, he interfaces with medical staff, administration and the board of governors. He assists the medical staff in assigned duties and committees; provides physician perspective and insight in strategic and leadership initiatives; nursing initiatives; information technology; and various system-wide committees. He also manages the medical staff office, credentials verification office, certified medical education office and medical director contracts.
Dr. Lorenc earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Loyola University, a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Illinois, Chicago and performed an internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Missouri, Columbia.
Dr. Lorenc is a member of the Illinois State Committee on Accreditation of CME Providers and is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, Chicago.
Dr. Lorenc said Centegra Health System and McHenry County provide the ideal location close to both his and his wife’s families; the area is close enough to visit the city but far enough away to enjoy nature and to raise a family among a wonderful population of down-to-earth, hardworking people who cherish the same values he has.
Sue M. Murphy, RN, BSN, MS, Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer for Centegra Hospital - McHenry
Sue M. Murphy is Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer for Centegra Hospital - McHenry. Ms. Murphy joined Centegra Health System in 2004 as the Manager of Women’s Services at Centegra Hospital - Woodstock. She was named to her current position in 2008 and provides nursing leadership to the McHenry nursing staff with a system approach using the care delivery model of relationship-based patient care.
Ms. Murphy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Rush University in 1985 and a Masters degree in Managerial Leadership in 1998.
Ms. Murphy said she enjoys Centegra Health System's great culture and that the Associates truly believe in the values and mission of the organization. She said she considers herself fortunate to be a leader at such a high-quality healthcare system.
Laura Walczak, RN, BSN, MS, Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer for Centegra Hospital - Woodstock
Laura Walczak is Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer for Centegra Hospital - Woodstock. Ms. Walczak joined Centegra Health System in January of 2008 as the Director of Inpatient Nursing at Centegra Hospital - Woodstock. She was named to her current position in June of 2008 and provides nursing leadership to the Woodstock nursing staff with a system approach using the care delivery model of relationship-based patient care.
Ms. Walczak earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee in 1981 and a Masters degree in Business Administration from the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management in 1992.
Ms. Walczak is a member of the Illinois Organization of Nursing Leadership, a board member of the Illinois Coalition of Nursing Resources and is a graduate of Leadership Greater McHenry County.
Ms. Walczak said she was drawn to Centegra Health System because it gave her the opportunity to work in a health system that is growing and meeting the healthcare needs of the McHenry County community.
